Key facts and information for Apprentices
Apprenticeships enable you to enter the world of work, earn a wage and learn new skills whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification
An apprenticeship is a mixture of both on the job training and off the job training, which enable you to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that you need for your chosen career.
Apprentices will work full time for an employer (minimum 30 hours per week), whilst also attending college. 6 of those hours will be allocated to studying for your apprenticeship each week.
The apprenticeship programme will be funded by employers and/or the government - apprentices do not pay for their apprenticeship training.
An apprenticeship is not easier than being a full-time student in college.
Apprentices have to work full time and study to gain their qualifications at the same time, so they need to be committed and willing to work hard.
Apprenticeships are available to new recruits and existing members of staff. There is a wide variety of apprenticeships available for almost every industry and business. These apprenticeships range from entry level jobs all the way to degree level and can complement your current learning and development activity.
Existing employed staff can undertake an apprenticeship training programme as long as new new knowledge and skills are required for the job role. This means employers are able to utilise this training to enhance staff development within the organisation. Our experienced sales team will be able to advice on this in more detail.
Entry requirements
Applicants who have previously enrolled as an apprentice, but failed to complete the apprenticeship will not be eligible to apply for the same apprenticeship they failed to achieve
Candidates will need to complete a Maths and English assessment as part of their application and enrolment, to help determine their eligibility for the chosen apprenticeship.
Below is the minimum assessment grade requirements for each apprenticeship level.
Level 2 Apprenticeship: English and Maths Assessment Score Entry 3 Higher
Level 3 Apprenticeship: English and Maths Assessment Score Level 1 Middle

What would be your key commitments on the apprenticeship?
You must be employed in a real job to gain the knowledge, skills and experience you need to complete your apprenticeship.
You must complete 6 hours of training per week, which will included attendance at one of our campuses, and treat it like a normal working day as you are paid for these hours. Non-attendance is reported to your employer
You must have a contract of employment which provides minimum of 30 hours a week and covers the full duration of the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship training must last at least 12 months; depending on the apprenticeship this timeframe can vary but potentially it could be up to 4 years.
