Each T Level is equivalent to 3 A levels and helps young people develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills to thrive in the workplace or progress onto Higher Education or Apprenticeships.
In 2024/25 we achieved a 97% pass rate across all of our T Levels, significantly higher than the national average of 91.8%. More than three quarters of those (78.8%) were merit or Distinction grades compared to 65.3% nationally.
We talked to students, parents, employers and tutors to get their view of how T Levels in Plumbing and Heating Engineering, Laboratory Science and Early Years Childcare are progressing

T Levels are a new set of technical qualifications in England for 16-19 year olds that provide an alternative to A Levels for students who want to pursue technical careers. T Levels are a mix between classroom learning (80%) and practical experience on an industry placement (20%). Gain knowledge, skills and experience needed to progress into skilled employment, further study or higher level apprenticeships. This video from the Department of Education explains how they can work for you.
We have secured a number of progression routes at Middlesex University for our T-Level students to continue study after Barnet and Southgate College.
