The main purpose of a customer service specialist is to be a ‘professional’ for direct customer support within all sectors and organisation types. You are an advocate of Customer Service who acts as a referral point for dealing with more complex or technical customer requests, complaints, and queries. This could be in many types of environment including contact centres, retail, webchat, service industry or any customer service point.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
Apprentices will be required to have or achieve qualifications equivalent to Level 2 in both English and Maths. Apprentices must also be working in a Customer Service role.
What will I study ?
You will learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of a customer service specialist as defined in the Customer Service Specialist Standard. You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and behaviours as well as product and/or service knowledge when delivering to your customers. You will learn key knowledge requirements related to Business, Customer journey and Customer Service. You will develop skills both in the workplace and in training, including providing a positive customer experience, working with customers and service improvement. You will also develop behaviours embedded across your apprenticeship, including ownership, team working and equality. Delivery will take the form of regular meetings with your allocated assessor trainer and visits to the workplace to assess the development of knowledge, skills and behaviours required to meet the Standard, using a series of work-based activities/projects.
How will I be assessed ?
There are two phases for assessment. On Programme Assessment, which is conducted by your assessor in preparation for End Point Assessment, which is conducted by an independent End Point Assessor.
