Do something challenging and positive alongside your studies!

Any student can apply to join one of our highly successful sports academies such as our Tottenham Hotspur men's and women's academies and the Athletics, Basketball, Boxing and Tennis academies.

Athletics - Friday 10th April - Southgate Academy Gym (S&C Session)

Basketball - Wednesday 8th April – at London Met University Sportshall, Science Centre Building

Boxing - Friday 10th April. 11am - Southgate Campus

Tennis – will be invited to a free squad session - Chingford School of Tennis

ATHLETICS ACADEMY

Our Athletics Academy programme caters for both male and female athletes. You will study a full-time course at Barnet and Southgate College and access elite training sessions with our highly experienced athletic coaches - both elements will be integral components of your study programme.

BASKETBALL ACADEMY

The Barnet and Southgate College Basketball Academy will provide a pathway for Britain’s best to progress to the top of the sport, and offer a high-level domestic route for top British players who may otherwise leave the UK to play professionally overseas. From September 2022 BSC Bears are a College Basketball League (CBL formerly ABL) programme.

Your pathway to elite volleyball: a full-time High-Performance and education programme for students over 16 years old.. Combining expert court coaching, strength & conditioning, this academy combines expert volleyball training with a tailored academic curriculum, giving student-athletes the tools to succeed both on and off the court.

The BSC Tottenham Hotspur football programme is one of the most successful college programmes in the country for player development, with a number of students progressing to professional contracts, US scholarships, UK universities and league / non-league football.

The BSC Bears Boxing Education Academy is for students over 16 years old, and combines full-time academic education with 8 hours a week of high-quality boxing coaching throughout the academic year as part of the student’s study programme

TENNIS ACADEMY

Barnet and Southgate has led the way in college tennis development since 2012. We have held Tennis Foundation “Enhanced College” status since 2013, won the South-East LTA Region AEGON British Tennis Award in 2015, as well as multiple singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles at AoC Sport London Regional and National competitions.
