Are you an aspiring musician who is looking to create a new single or EPK? Are you looking for opportunities to be able to know how to take control of your content creation and record and perform your own songs?
This course is all about creating a portfolio to attract new opportunities, to rehearse your own original music and gain valuable industry feedback and to improve your own performance and production skills.
You will be getting an insight into artist development through performance activities and analytical problem solving based on your original material. Having a sense of ownership of your creativity and intellectual property is integral in the Music Industry, and we want to harness this methodology and refine the process in which your music is made, produced and performed.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
5 GCSE's grade A* - C preferably including English, Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and/or English Or Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design (Distinction or Merit) Or Level 2 Diploma in another relevant subject area (Distinction or Merit); the ability to play basic piano and other musical instruments.
What will I study ?
The course consists of: Collaboration with content creators on multiple platforms and projects; Original music and IP creation to build briefs & confidence when performing; Recording new material; Developing showcase material; Collaboration with other students to build portfolios of work and provide content for student projects, offering real world experience with clients who create content for target audiences; Mentoring/tutorial time, with 1 to 1 feedback on career aspirations and individual CPD opportunities; Advice to students looking to develop their skills. Music students will take part in a variety of gigs and will create opportunities to develop technical ability and build ensemble skills, improving communication, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills through professional feedback from tutors. There will be a strong emphasis on contextual understanding of popular music genres music, their roots and musical theory.
