What qualifications or experience do I need?
You will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English and Maths. A strong interest in art, design, and architecture is essential. A portfolio of creative work may be requested.
What will I study ?
This course introduces you to the fundamentals of art and design with a focus on architecture. You will explore: 2D and 3D design techniques Architectural drawing and model-making Creative use of materials and processes Digital design tools and CAD basics Research into architectural styles and contextual studies You will also develop transferable skills such as problem-solving, creative thinking, and presentation.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessment is project-based and includes: Practical assignments Sketchbooks and design portfolios Research and written reflections A Final Major Project responding to a set brief There are no formal exams; all work is internally assessed and externally moderated by UAL Awarding Body.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion, you will achieve the UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design. This can lead to progression onto: UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice (Architecture or related pathways) Other Level 3 creative courses Apprenticeships in design-related fields
