What qualifications or experience do I need?
To get on this course, you are required to have 4 GCSEs at grades 9-2 (A*-E), one of which must be English.
You must have an interest and choose from one of the following academies on your application: Athletics; Basketball; Football; Tennis; Boxing or Leadership.
It would be ideal that you have previous experience playing competitive sport however, not necessary to secure a placement on the course.
What will I study ?
You will study a wide range of sport related subjects, including: participating in sports, dance, exercise and fitness activities; training for health and fitness; coaching skills in sport; employability skills. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as part of the curriculum.
As part of your full-time study programme you will also be required to attend training with your chosen academy.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessments will take place throughout the course including: practical assessments; written assignments; presentations and workbooks.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Sport.
