What qualifications or experience do I need?
To get on this course you will be expected to have the equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 including Science, Maths and English. Alternatively, you should have a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Science or a related subject.
You may be asked to sit a Science test.
What will I study ?
You will study a wide range of science related subjects, including: Principles of Science; Chemistry and our Earth; Energy and our Universe; Biology and our Environment; Applications of Chemical Substances; Applications of Physical Science; Health Applications of Life Science; Scientific Skills. You will also have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as part of the curriculum.
Learners will have the opportunity to access additional skills, attitudes and behaviours to be able to access T-Level courses.
How will I be assessed ?
Assessments will take place throughout the course, including: 2 exams (external assessments); written assignments; practical assessments and projects. All units will be assessed and graded with a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
You will also be expected to keep a portfolio of your work.

What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion of this course you will achieve a BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Applied Science.
