What qualifications or experience do I need?
It is preferable to have a minimum of E3 in English and maths and grade 2/3 (E) in science GCSE; we will also give you an informal test in maths and English at your interview.
What will I study ?
This is a foundation course designed to help students prepare for a BTEC Level 2 Applied Science programme or a related course; you will study biology, chemistry and physics as well as maths and English.
How will I be assessed ?
Assignment based coursework, graded with a Pass, Merit, Distinction. All units must be completed to achieve the course. You will also be expected to improve your maths and English in order to support your progression to a level 2 course.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Applied Science.
