Ukrainians in Barnet receive free laptops from college and partners

Ukrainians displaced by the war in their country were given laptops to assist them in seeking employment and education

Barnet and Southgate College's Colindale Campus hosted Ukrainian guests, Barnet Council and educational partners to donate much-needed laptops to those displaced by the current war in their country.

Funds to purchase the laptops were generously donated by Cadent Gas and the Hill Group, two of the College's construction, gas and plumbing educational partners.

The scheme came about after an information evening held at the College in May 2022 where Ukrainian refugees were made aware of various methods to assist them into education and employment.

A number of Ukrainian visitors are now undertaking ESOL courses at Barnet and Southgate College.

Pictures show laptops being presented by Dr Ramin Narimani, Head of Colindale Campus, Mary O'Shaughnessy from Cadent Gas and Emma Coles, formerly of Barnet Council.
