College media partner ScreenSkills visited the Barnet Campus to deliver an innovative film-making workshop to level 3 Creative Media students
The event, held at the College's Barnet Campus, showcased the various job roles that are required to make a feature film.
Professionals working in the film industry told students about working practices, including the importance of health and safety and efficient teamwork.
After presentations came a film-making workshop, where students were given t-shirts bearing the names of different jobs, and acted in those jobs accordingly to re-create a famous scene from the 2019 hit film Joker.
Barnet and Southgate College is part of ScreenSkills Select, which endorses and enhances screen courses in colleges that develop industry-ready students.
Alyson Cook, Curriculum Manager for Creative Studies, said:
"The media students were really invigorated by the activities in the ScreenSkills event today - they loved it!"
College Principal and Deputy Chief Executive Neil Coker said:
"This is just one of the many benefits we gain by being a ScreenSkills Select partner college."
