Business and Travel students organise International Day

Level 3 Business, Level 2 and 3 Travel and Foundation Learning students at Barnet and Southgate College organised International events at the Barnet Campus to celebrate the wide range of cultures and heritage amongst students and staff

Whilst some brought their national flags and wore traditional clothing, there were also stands around the campus highlighting specific cultural aspects of many countries, with food, picture displays and music.

Countries as diverse as Jamaica, Albania, Ukraine, Turkey and Romania were featured, as well as many more.

The international event was organised by students as coursework for their Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.

Level 2 and 3 Travel and Tourism students, together with students on the Foundation Learning programme, combined their cultural celebration day with a travel destination show.

The Travel event featured a fashion show as well as language workshops, cooking demonstrations and performances.

Business course tutor Yolanda Toussaint said:

"Equality, diversity, and inclusion are not just buzzwords; they are practices that require intention and action.

As educators, it is our responsibility to encourage students to embrace differences as the thing that brings us together rather than separates us.

Congratulations to my Level3 Business students for hosting a phenomenal International Day event, showcasing their heritage with pride."
