This 9 month course is for young people aged 16-18. The course is designed to lead to careers in STEM and includes maths and English a part of the course. The course leads to a BTEC level 1 certificate or award and is an ideal course for anyone who has completed an Entry 3 programme at the college.

What qualifications or experience do I need?

You do not need any formal qualifications. There will be a test at interview to assess English, maths and communication.

What will I study ?

5 BTEC units, including two core units (Being Organised and Developing a Personal Progression Plan) plus English and maths at either Functional Skills or GCSE level.

How will I be assessed ?

You will be assessed in a range of ways including assignments and exams (for your GCSEs).

What qualifications could I achieve ?

You can achieve a Level 1 Award or Certificate in Vocational Studies with a Pass, Merit, or Distinction grade. You could also achieve qualifications in English and maths FS or GCSE).
