This course is for young people aged 16 – 19 (or to 25 with an EHCP). It is ideal for learners who need to retake their maths and English GCSEs and who want to be able to progress onto a Level 2 or Level 3 Business course the following year.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
You will be expected to have a grade 3 (D) in English and maths or demonstrate, through assessment, a standard of literacy and numeracy suitable for a level 2 qualification.
What will I study ?
GCSE Maths, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature and GCSE Business; as well as a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Vocational Studies which is made up of 2 Core units to help develop organisational and study skills, and 3 sector units on Business, Hospitality and Digital Media. In addition, you will have a weekly tutorial with your own personal tutor and a work experience placement.
How will I be assessed ?
You will complete assessments throughout the year and complete end of year exams.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
GCSE Maths, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Business and a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Vocational Studies.

Will I need an interview ?
Yes - but it is more of a discussion than an interview. We want to open the doors that are closed to you right now and an important part of this is seeing you in person and discussing how we can help. You will also sit an English and Maths assessment to help us establish your level if you do not already have GCSE Grade 3. Please bring any exam, qualification certificates and support documents to interview.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
You only need to provide basic equipment such as pens, paper, folders, calculators etc. We will supply the rest.
