What qualifications or experience do I need?
GCSE English and maths at grade 4 and above OR Functional Skills maths and English Level 2. (Equivalent qualifications from overseas will be considered.) If applicant has a grade 3 in English or maths GCSE, they will need to retake that/those exam(s) and have a successful interview. In order to be considered for progression to the next level of Electrical courses students need to have 85%+ attendance in their current course.
What will I study ?
For this Level 2 Diploma you will learn about electrical principles including AC theory, single and triple phase power systems (in accordance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008[2015]), Health and Safety in building services, electrical installation technology, installation of wiring systems and communication with other building services. You will also have the opportunity to study towards gaining your CSCS card, increasing your chances of employment.
How will I be assessed ?
Your course work will be assessed by a combination of City & Guilds online multiple-choice exams and observed assessments of your practical work by a qualified assessor. You will be given help to prepare for all assessments and tests.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
Successful completion of the course will lead to an award of Diploma Level 2 (City & Guilds 2365 Level 2). From here you can choose to proceed to the Diploma Level 3 or look for an Apprenticeship.

You must provide and wear approved safety footwear, have a copy of the course book and a scientific calculator. Students who are accepted onto one of Electrical courses at Level 2 must purchase the following mandatory book(s) within the first week of joining their course: IET On-Site Guide - updated to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (Brown Cover)
