What qualifications or experience do I need?
4 GCSEs at Grade 2+, preferably including English and maths at Grade 3; students with a grade 2 in maths and English will need to complete an assessment. In order to be considered for progression to the next level of Electrical courses students need to have 85%+ attendance in their current course.
What will I study ?
For this Level 1 Diploma you will learn the foundations of electrical installation and then be able to proceed to Level 2 qualification. You will also learn about safe working practices when working in building construction. There will be an opportunity to widen your skills base and gain experience in elements of the trade that will improve employability.
How will I be assessed ?
Your course work will be assessed by a combination of written assignments and observed assessments of your practical work by a qualified assessor. You will be given help to prepare for all assessments and tests.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
Successful completion of the course will lead to an award of Diploma Level 1 (City & Guilds 7202 Level 1). From here you can choose to proceed to a Level 2 or look for an Apprenticeship. In order to be considered for progression to the next level of Electrical courses students need to have 85%+ attendance in their current course.
