This course builds on the skills learned in the Level 1 Diploma and helps you develop skills for a career in plumbing. You will gain hands on skills throughout the course helping you get a real insight into what being a plumber involves. This diploma at Barnet and Southgate College will help towards qualifying as a plumber helping you learn, develop and practice the skills you need for employment or further career progression.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
All applicants must have successfully completed the Plumbing Diploma Level 1 and have at least 2 GCSEs at grades 8/9 - 3 (A*-D) including maths, or be able to show a Level 1 maths pass during the admission process.
What will I study ?
For this Level 2 Diploma you will learn about Health and Safety in construction, cold water system plumbing, domestic hot water systems, sanitation systems, central heating systems and drainage systems. You will also have the opportunity to study towards gaining your CSCS card, increasing your chances of employment. You will also continue with Maths and English qualifications. You will be expected to undertake work experience when on the course - (minimum of 315 hours placement) - this could be weekly or as a block release during term time and half terms. Learners will have the opportunity to access additional skills, attitudes and behaviours to be able to access T-Level courses.
How will I be assessed ?
Your course work will be assessed by a combination of short question online test on each subject and observed assessments of your practical work by a qualified assessor. You will be given help to prepare for all assessments and tests.
What qualifications could I achieve ?
Successful completion of the course will lead to an award of Diploma Level 2 (City & Guilds 6035 Level 2). From here you can choose to proceed to the Diploma Level 3 or look for an Apprenticeship.
