What qualifications or experience do I need?
You will need 5 GCSEs grade 8/9 - 4/5 (A*-C), preferably including English; a Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and/or English; or a Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design (Distinction or Merit), or a Level 2 Diploma in another relevant subject area (Distinction or Merit); and a reference from your previous school/college.
What will I study ?
This Level 3 Diploma trains the next generation of photography creatives and reflects the overlap between still and moving image in the creative industries. A series of practical assignments will challenge you to achieve professional standards in a variety of technical and industry contexts. On the course you will experience project briefs requiring you to shoot brand advertising, animation and film, fashion editorial photography, and photography for social campaigns. With a proven track record of being a stepping stone onto university progression and a career in the creative industries, this course offers students a high level of practical and technical training, industry insight, work experience opportunities within the creative sector, and the much-needed guidance to help you develop your personal and unique style.
How will I be assessed ?
Coursework is assessed throughout the year.

Year 1 - UAL: Level 3 Diploma in Photography Year 2 - UAL: Level 3 Extended Diploma Photography (Progression onto year 2 is subject on successful completion of the diploma, attendance & punctuality)

Will I need an interview ?
Yes - you will need to meet a member of staff for an interview; to which you should bring a portfolio of your artwork, and a written piece (approximately 300 words – one side of A4) on why you are applying for a creative course and what your future plans are.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
Most materials will be provided, but it is advisable to invest in a range of art and design related equipment and materials, so you can continue your work outside of the studios.
Further Information
You will have access to 2 studios with professional flash lighting kits for photography, and LED lighting equipment for filmmaking. In these studios we have a range of light modifiers, backdrop systems and the function for screen tethering. A dedicated editing suite is equipped with Apple Mac M2 Pro computers with Adobe CC Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator and Premier Pro. In addition to this we have a technician store with the option of hiring full-frame and cropped-sensor DSLR cameras, lighting kits, prime lenses, video tracking systems and audio recording gear.
