What qualifications or experience do I need?
You will need 4 GCSEs grade 8/9 – 3 (A*-D), preferably including English; a Functional Skills Level 1 in maths and/or English, or a Level 1 qualification in a related area.
What will I study ?
This course offers an exciting starting point to develop your creative talent and a wide range of skills used for progression into higher level industry-based games design courses.
Using high spec computers and specialist facilities at Barnet and Southgate College you will develop skills and techniques essential to be successful in the creative digital industries. You will challenge yourself to work on games design ideas both collaboratively and independently that will test your creativity and organisational skills and show other gamers your talent.
How will I be assessed ?
There will be continuous assessment throughout the course.

Will I need an interview ?
You will need to meet a member of staff for an interview; to which you should bring any examples of your creative/digital work, and a written piece (approximately 250 words). This will be in the form of a games review.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
Most of the materials will be provided, but it is advisable to invest in a selection of media storage equipment and materials, so that you can continue your work outside of the studios.
